Lab-Animal-Training’s FELASA certified laboratory animal science course (mouse/rat) provides a thorough introduction to animal experimentation. The intensive practical training takes place in a small group in Berlin and lasts 2.5 days. The theory is provided as an online course beforehand, allowing participants to follow their own time schedule. The syllabus follows EU recommendations for functions A (carrying out procedures on animals) as well as D (humane euthanasia) and also covers modules 20 (anesthesia for minor procedures) and 22 (principles of surgery).

Lab-Animal-Training also offers an advanced lab animal science course that provides a thorough introduction into the design of animal studies as well as the requirements for legal authorization. The theory (approx. 24h) is provided via E-Learning which allows you to work through the modules in your own time from the comfort of your home. The practical training in Berlin offers opportunities for hands-on exercises and group work to practice the transfer of your knowledge onto real-world scenarios. The syllabus complies with the training and further education framework* of the EU (Article 23, 2010/63 EU) and covers module 9 “Ethics, animal welfare and the three Rs (level 2)” as well as modules 10 and 11 “Design of procedures and projects (level 1 and 2).

The target audience for all courses are scientists, postgraduates, students, animal caretakers and technical staff wishing to perform procedures on animals covered within EU function A. Veterinary training (ATF accredited). Training language is English. Participants from outside Berlin and abroad are welcome.
