Presenters

Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics
Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine

Dr. Susanna Cooper is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Professor Paul Riley's group. As part of a MRC program, she is studying immunomodulation following cardiac injury, with a particular focus on cardiac lymphangiogenesis, to ascertain the optimal local injury environment for tissue repair after a heart attack.

Scientist 2
Preclinical Development
Gordian Biotechnology

Gavin Pharaoh’s current role is as a scientist in preclinical development at Gordian Biotechnology working on gene therapies for age-related diseases including heart failure. His academic research focused on the role of mitochondria in aging and disease integrating physiological, pharmaceutical, genetic, molecular, and mitochondrial bioenergetic techniques.

Research Engineer
PhyMedExp Lab
INSERM Montpellier

Dr. Pierre Sicard has held a permanent position at INSERM Montpellier (PhyMedExp Lab) as a Research Engineer. He oversees the ultrasound/photoacoustic facility (Vevo LAZR-X) and obtained a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherche in 2024.

Associate Head for Clinical Engagement, Professor of Biomedical Engineering
Director of Clinical Programs, Adjunct Professor of Surgery, IUSM
Purdue University Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering

Dr. Craig J. Goergen is the Principal Investigator of the Cardiovascular Imaging Research Laboratory at Purdue University. His work combines advanced engineering, imaging, and biological approaches to study a variety of cardiac and vascular diseases.
