Didier Merciris is a well-seasoned biologist with more than 18 years of experience. He obtained his PhD in bone biology and calcified tissue from the University of Paris 7.

He began his scientific career at Galapagos in the histology department where he participated in the development of Filgotinib, a selective janus kinases inhibitor, and GLPG3970, a selective duals SIK inhibitor, for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

In 2023, Didier joined Novalix as Senior Project Manager in the histology team. In 2025, he was appointed as Head of the Histology department, where he leads and oversees all activities related to histology.
