Dr. Rico Buchli serves as the Chief Scientific Officer and Vice President of Products and Services at HLA Protein Technologies Inc., having joined the company in 2001. His extensive experience and contributions in HLA biology and research are integral to the advancement of the soluble HLA technology. Dr. Buchli is committed to promoting standardization of its application across these disciplines.

Appointed by the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs with approval from the U.S. Department of State, Dr. Buchli also fulfills the role of Honorary Consul of Switzerland. He actively participates in committees, including the Oklahoma Governor’s International Team (OKGIT) and the Advisory Committee of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.

Dr. Buchli earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Basel, Switzerland, in 1996. He subsequently completed postdoctoral research at UC Davis until 2001, after which he became a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Buchli has published extensively in leading international peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Journal of Biochemistry, Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, Cancer Letters, and the Journal of Immunology, among others. His awards include the Albert M. Kligman Award in Dermatology and The Journal Record’s On the Brink Innovator Award, as well as multiple international and U.S. patents.
