Biography

Malcolm Jackson’s research focuses on the roles of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) in skeletal muscle, particularly in relation to aging and sarcopenia. He has over 20 years of experience in redox biology, using both in vitro and in vivo models to study ROS-mediated signaling and adaptation in muscle. His lab is equipped with advanced imaging tools for ROS detection, and he previously directed the MRC–Arthritis Research UK Centre for Integrated Research into Musculoskeletal Ageing (CIMA), providing access to extensive collaborative infrastructure. His work is supported by the MRC, BBSRC, and UK Space Agency, and has included NIH-funded collaborations.
